Replace the Heat Press Platen

The heat press comes with a cap platen (curved) and a tag platen (flat). You may need to change to the tag platen for use with the heat press barcode labels.

To remove the platen:

1. Unplug the heat press.
2. Remove the two wing nuts attaching the top platen to the press.
3. Unscrew the electrical cable connected to the top platen from the bottom of the controller. Then, gently pull the electrical cable out of the controller. Set the top platen to the side.
4. Remove the two wing nuts attaching the bottom platen to the press. Set the bottom platen to the side.
5. Install the bottom tag platen using the two wing nuts.
6. Insert the electrical cable from the top tag platen into the controller and screw the connector onto the controller.
7. Install the top tag platen using the two wing nuts. You may need to loosen the pressure knob to allow the bolts to push through far enough to install the wing nuts.
