Adding Helmets to Inventory

  1. Go to the Inventory -> Helmets screen.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. With the cursor in the Helmet ID field, scan the helmet's RFID tag.

Most helmets will be tagged with a NOCSAE RFID tag. The Manufacturer, Model, Initial Season, and Size will appear on the screen because this information is associated with this unique NOCSAE tag. If the helmet does not have a NOCSAE tag inside, you must scan it and choose the Manufacturer, Model, Initial Season, and Size before adding the helmet to your inventory.

  1. (Optional) Additional information can be added to the helmet.
    • Cost - This value will be used to calculate your helmet inventory and will show on an athlete's issued equipment report. We recommend entering the "replacement" cost.
    • Owner - "School" is the default. Choose "Athlete" if they use their own helmet and enter their name in the Owned By field. "League" and "Leased" are additional options.
    • Condition - This value allows you to state the state of the helmet. (ex. scratched, dented, etc.)
    • Team - This value is used if you have more than one football team and would like to designate each helmet to a team's inventory. (ex. Varsity vs JV) See Add/Update Teams to create this drop-down list.
    • Notes
    • Color - Select the helmet color.
    • Inventory Location - Select an Inventory Location.
    • Helmet Use - Select a Helmet Use.
    • Loan To - Use this field, if the helmet is loaned to someone.
    • Verified -
    • Missing - Check this field if the helmet is missing and may be returned at a later date.
    • Needs Returned - This is defaulted to Yes, but can be changed to No if you are giving the helmet away after the season.
  2. Click Save or Save & New to add additional helmets at this time.
